Storage for Contractors, Oilfield Hands and Small Businesses in Big Spring, TX

Plenty of people around Big Spring run a business out of a pickup and a garage. That works fine until the garage is full and you are emptying the truck bed every night so nothing walks off.
A unit on East 23rd Street is a cheap fix for that. Here is what ours does well, and where it falls short, so you can decide before you haul anything over.
What you are renting
Every unit at our Big Spring facility is drive-up and on the ground. Each one has its own roll-up door. You pull up, drop the tailgate and load straight across. Nobody carries a table saw down a hallway.
Sizes run from a 5x10 up to a 10x20. That is 50 square feet at the small end and 200 at the big end. Not every size is open every week, so the facility page shows which ones are open today and what each one costs.
Gate hours and a working day
The gate is open from 6 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week. For most trades that covers both ends of the day. Load out before the first job. Drop off after the last one, Sundays included.
It is not round-the-clock access. If your crew rolls at 4:30 in the morning, you will need to load the truck the evening before.
You do not have to come by the office to get started. You can rent online at any hour and move in the same day, so signing up does not cost you a lunch break on a job site. The office is open Monday through Friday, 10 AM to 2 PM. Saturday is by appointment. Call and we will meet you.
Who this fits
Contractors and tradesmen. Hand tools, ladders, sawhorses, the tile and trim left over from the last job that you know you will use on the next one. A unit gets it out of the truck and out of the weather.
Oilfield hands. If you work a hitch and you are gone two weeks at a stretch, a unit holds your gear and the household things you would rather not leave sitting at an empty rental. It rents by the month, which suits work that moves.
Small businesses. Extra stock, display fixtures, the tent and folding tables for market days. If it is crowding the shop floor or the spare bedroom, it can live here.
What not to leave in a drive-up unit
We do not have climate control in Big Spring. These are metal buildings in West Texas. Inside, a unit runs hot in July and cold in January, and it follows whatever the weather is doing that week.
Steel tools and lumber do not care. Some of what a tradesman carries does:
- Paint and stain
- Adhesives and tubes of caulk
- Batteries, including the packs for your cordless tools
- Anything else the label says to keep out of the heat
Take those home or keep them in the shop. Fuel and other hazardous materials are not allowed in a storage unit at all. If you are not sure about something, call and ask before you load it.
Setting it up so it saves you time
A unit you have to dig through every morning is no better than the garage was. A few habits help.
Put freestanding shelves down both side walls and keep the floor clear between them. Park what you grab every day just inside the door. Push the once-a-year things to the back wall.
Keep a running list on your phone of what is in there. When you are standing in a supply house wondering if you already own a box of something, the list answers it.
Rent a size up if you are between two. A unit packed to the door means unloading half of it to reach one thing.
Locks and cameras
You put your own lock on your own door. If you need one, we sell locks at the office. We don't keep a copy of your key.
The property has 24-hour video surveillance. That means the cameras record all night. The gate still keeps the 6 AM to 10 PM hours above.
How the rent works
It is month to month. Rent is due on the 1st. When a job wraps up or the business changes, give us 10 days' notice and move out.
